Cornerstones of the ITBN story
ITBN was launched in 2005 and it was already clear that the industry and the market appreciated and valued such events. In 2008, ITBN introduced security-conscious information management as a new idea around which the conference was built, and which was apparently well received by an audience which by that time grew to 1,000 people.
At the same time, the ITBN project team was formed and has been running the event ever since. In 2009, we also introduced new solutions: the in-house developed Event Monitor - an event tracking and access control system - provided ITBN with RFID tracking attendees at the event, a 2D Datamatrix for networking, as well as electronic registration and a program booklet.
New to ITBN 2010 was the expansion of the event to two days, with nearly 2000 attendees. And for the first time, the ITBN Security Awards were presented to recognize outstanding achievements in the industry and the field.
In 2012, ITBN helped bring the Hungarian translation of Kevin Mitnick's biography of the famous hacker to the shelves. Also this year, we launched a mobile app for iOS and Android, designed specifically for the event. Our Business Matchmaking service helped bring service providers and customers closer together at the event.
By 2013, our event had become the largest trade event in Central and Eastern Europe. In 2017, we plunged into the cold depths of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, topics that have since become a dominant part of our event alongside IT security.
In 2020, ITBN has also taken on new challenges. That year and in 2021, we organized our event online, making a 2-day TV broadcast for our audience. In 2022, with the world back on track, ITBN again organized a large event with over 100 talks.
In 2023, in addition to IT security, there was a lot of interesting content for those looking for answers to the questions that AI is increasingly focusing on.
